College Entrance Exams

Some universities require that applicants take either the SAT or ACT. For more information, or for help deciding which test to take and how to prepare, check with Beyond CHS.

Preliminary SAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)

The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is a practice test for the SAT that is also used to determine eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program. It utilizes junior year (11th grade) test scores only.

We highly recommend that students in the eleventh grade take the PSAT, even if they have taken it before.
