Upward Bound

What is TRIO Upward Bound?

TRIO Upward Bound is a supportive community that prepares high school students who have limited access to higher education opportunities for a successful college career through a program of engaging academic instruction, experience-based college preparation, and enriching cultural exposure.

Students receive tutoring, counseling, and mentorship on a regular basis throughout the school year. Additionally, educational workshops, career exploration activities (guest speakers, field trips, college visits, etc.), and cultural events are provided across the entire calendar year.

Upward Bound is a college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the TRIO Upward Bound program:

  • High school student at Corvallis High School
  • Interested in attending college but may need support and guidance on the way
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

and at least one of the two options below:

  • Family meets federal income guidelines
  • First generation – neither parent/guardian has earned a four-year college degree

How do I apply?

Students will first complete a brief pre-application. This will let us know you are interested in the program and determine your eligibility.

All TRIO Upward Bound services are completely free. Upward Bound is a college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
