CHS choir concert

The CHS theater is a state-of-the-art theater that seats up to 620 people and is equipped to support high-quality performing arts events. Along with the CSD theater program, the CHS Choir, Band, and Orchestra are highly accomplished. The Concert Choir earned first place in the OSAA 5A division for three consecutive years. Go Sparts!

Choir

CHS has many outlets for singers. At CHS we have three choirs, some requiring an audition. Cantum (non-auditioned) is for all voices. Spartacappella (auditioned) is an a cappella group that performs everything from pop to classical music. Our Concert Choir (auditioned) is the premier choral ensemble at CHS, holding the OSAA 5A Division Championship for three years (2015, 2016, and 2017).

Band

Our Instrumental Music program provides a comprehensive atmosphere for students who enjoy music or playing instruments. We have Wind and Percussion Ensembles as well as a Symphonic Band and a Jazz Band. The CHS band programs help students develop performance skills including technique and posture. We have a marching band that performs at home football games and assemblies.

Drama and Theater

CHS is known for its theater prowess. Our students have access to theater and expressive arts classes. We have Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced Theater classes that teach students both the technical and artistic side to theater. Our Creative and Expressive Arts class provides alternative ways to explore theater and fine arts. All of the coursework can pay off on our state-of-the art Main Stage Theater that can seat up to 620 people. We also hold productions and other performances there and in our Black Box theater located to the right of the Main Stage.

Orchestra

CHS has two orchestras, one for all skill levels, and Camerata Orchestra, which requires an audition. The Camerata Orchestra, which is a combination of the Corvallis and Crescent Valley High Schools, has won the OSAA State Orchestra Championship in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016. This ensemble has also won the Mt. Hood Symphony Festival in 1989, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2011, showing a record of excellence in the Camerata Orchestra class.
