Buchanan entrance update

Want an easy way to save money?  Turn your car engine off while you wait for your student outside of the school.  By turning your engine off, you’ll save gas, save money, and keep the air a bit cleaner.  Thank you!

We appreciate your use of the 11th street entrance during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.  Although the situation on Buchanan Avenue has improved, there are now drivers who stop in the bike lane there to discharge or retrieve their students. Stopping a car in a bike lane is unsafe and unlawful. Thank you for helping keep CHS and our community safe.

FAFSA is now open to high school students entering 2 and 4-year colleges and universities in Fall 2019. A great source for help completing the FAFSA can be found here: The Parent’s Guide to Filling Out the FAFSA® Form

The ORSAA is open as an alternative to the FAFSA for undocumented Oregon students, including students who have DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status.  Do NOT complete the ORSAA if you are a U.S. citizen or a legal noncitizen with an Alien Registration number.

The CSS Profile is now open.  It is an online application that collects information used by nearly 400 colleges (mainly private) and scholarship programs to award non-federal aid. (For federal aid you must complete the FAFSA.)  You should submit no later than two weeks before the EARLIEST priority filing date specified by your colleges. Check with the colleges to which you are applying to see if they require the CSS Profile.

Senior Beyond CHS Appointments – 20-minute appointments are available in Beyond CHS. During this voluntary appointment, BCHS staff or a volunteer are available to discuss your plans for after you graduate from CHS, Career Ed requirements, and help you plan for continuing education – from vocational training to 2-year and 4-year college.
