This will prevent group messages from being put in your junk email.

Guidelines for Message Approval

As messages are written for distribution on the CHS Parents Group, it is important to keep in mind a balance of providing useful information and inundating parents with too much email. Whenever possible, combine messages into one submission instead of sending multiple emails, avoid sending large attachments and use cues in the subject line to help readers determine if a message is pertinent. It is best to communicate the main message in the body of the email rather than in an attachment. Attachments are best for forms and fliers. The distribution list is useful to notify the parent community about the beginning of a new activity but should not be used to send regular announcements of meetings which are better served with a smaller distribution list.

Note that the Google Group is not the only mechanism for communication within CHS.  There is a Monthly Newsletter, daily announcements as well as distribution of flyers through the main office.  Contact the Operation Assistant, Anne Neves @ for more information on other communication methods.

I have subscribed, but I still am not getting the emails.

Some mailers have aggressive junk-mail and spam filters to avoid unwanted email.  If you find that you are not receiving email messages after subscribing to the listserv, you may need to set up a filter in your mailer to allow the listserv messages to go to your inbox.  A filter to accept any message with the string CHS-Parents in the subject line usually solves this. This is usually a very simple procedure but the specific instructions vary with the mailer being used.   If you are unfamiliar with how to set up a filter, try searching the “Help” instructions on your mailer for “filter.”   If you are unsuccessful, contact the listserv moderator for more suggestions on how to create a filter.

Any questions or concerns on the CHS Parents Google Group should be sent to and the parent volunteer will try to assist you.
